Individual Reflection

I learnt that oil is organic and caffeine is an organic compound and caffeine likes to dissolve in oil as organic compounds dissolve in organic liquids. I also learnt that to extract caffeine in solid form from tea is not an easy task and takes time. We had to add calcium carbonate powder to the tea and filter it. We also had to add anhydrous sulphate and filter it and then we had to evaporate the solution to get the solid form of caffeine. The process is fun but tiring because there were many steps and we had to wait for some time for the solution to be ready to use.
